Your choice of any of the things that make up a Scottish breakfast – eggs how you like them, prize-winning sausages, black pudding and haggis make up the traditional menu. Start with a choice of cereal, soft fruit, muesli, and yoghurt – or porridge.

There is also a real local treat – the Arbroath Smokie, made every day in the town – so order it the day before. Everything in our breakfast is laid, made, grown, or caught right here in town. Except the orange juice.

We take your breakfast seriously because it truly is the most important meal of the day.

Few B&Bs offer their guests this level of lounge accommodation – a truly massive space – 500 square feet (50M2). The windows allow dramatic views out over the Tay estuary into Fife and beyond.

The lounge has been designed to give maximum guest comfort: high-end furniture, a huge Danish glass-fronted stove provides very efficient heating, a Bose home theatre system with a 10 foot (2.6 metre) drop-down screen and motorised curtains turn the lounge into a home cinema. Guests can choose a DVD from the library, there are also 3D titles to enjoy – active 3D glasses are available too.

A new addition to our B&B is the garden room. Guests may choose to have their breakfast here, or simply enjoy the sun and the view across to Ethie woods. The adjoining courtyard is due for completion in 2015, and will give guests the chance to also sit outside and enjoy the eventual walled garden.

The courtyard will be walled to over eight feet (2.5 metres); this will give the raised bed gardens shelter, and very delicate plants to thrive. We plan to grow our own vegetables and plants and be more self-sufficient.
